Items

As you progress through the game, Sakuna will obtain more and more items as she goes along.

Of the consumable items, these can be roughly separated into three categories: fertilizer, materials and ingredients. Broadly speaking, materials do not expire and are mostly used to craft weapons or garments by Kinta and Yui, while ingredients see most of their use in Myrthe's cooking, and usually have an expiration on them (i.e. will turn into Rotten Food, or Renowned Water in the case of Ice). Fertilizer sees most of its use in increasing Fertilizer nutrients in your rice field.

It is very much worth noting that many items are versatile and can fit into more than one category, thus giving them many uses - for example, Tea can be used in either fertilizer or Myrthe's cooking, and Rotten Food is mostly used as fertilizer, but is also used in crafting garments.

The next category of items are Spirit Boughs; these are clusters of spiritual energy that contain hidden powers to enhance your abilities. The latent ability in them requires some work to release on occasion, though Spirit Boughs can be attached to weapons, garments, headgear and masks to enhances Sakuna's abilities. They can be found all over Hinoe Island, often in treasure boxes. They cannot be discarded.

The final category of items is Key Items; like Spirit Boughs, these items cannot be discarded. These are items that will instead passively aid you in your journey through various means.
