"If yer gonna act all high and mighty, why don'tcha actually EARN that respect by doing some dang work around here?!"
"A war orphan who lost his parents and was separated from his older sister. He has somehow managed to survive by stealing and deceiving others in the countryside. He may be rough around the edges, but he has a deep interest and a natural talent for crafting.
Though rough-spoken and ill-mannered, Kinta has the potential to become a world-class blacksmith. Once the proper materials have been procured to build the smithing shed, he will craft weapons for you. Simply bring him the required materials and he'll forge them for you in no time!" [1][2]
Kinta is a young boy with an abrasive personality along with a blooming sense of justice. He has no fear of being honest and voicing his opinion - while this can cause him to butt heads with other like-minded people, he is more than capable of being earnest, as hard as he can find it sometimes.
He arrived in the Lofty Realm after escaping his prison with Myrthe and Yui. They joined with Tauemon and Kaimaru and set out to find a safe place, eventually crossing the bridge of heaven and ending up in Mihashira Capital, where the main events of the game begin. As the game progresses, Sakuna can call upon Kinta's skills as a blacksmith to create new weapons, given that she provides the materials.
Kinta's potential as a blacksmith shows much promise, and his passion for smithing burns as bright as his forge; his constant desire to improve and become the best blacksmith in all the land. This provides him with an outlet with which to apply himself and through smithing he forges not only world-class weapons, but bonds with the rest of those banished to Hinoe Island too.
Story[]
When Kinta's father and mother passed away, Kinta went to a orphanage ran by some monks. While the head monk was kind, the other monks ruthessly beat him and other children when they did not do what they want. Sometimes the monks would leave them without food, and the head monk would turn a blind eye. After years of this, Kinta left and was eventually captured by Ishimaru for the slave trade. Kinta hated Ishimaru but he did respect his ideals of only the strong survive due to his experiences.
After the beginning of the game, Kinta is enamored with Tauemon's sword, wanting to make his own sword. Ashigumo, seeing his passion, taught him all he knew about blacksmithing and Kinta started with his own forge. The more Sakuna brings back new materials, the more weapons Kinta creates.
Kinta starts noticing that his hammer is filled with light after a while and when it happens, the weapons he creates are top notch. This is the first sign that he is turning into a god but he disregards it until later on in the game.
After a lot of hard work and long hours, Kinta finally creates his own sword.
Relationships[]
Sakuna: At first, Kinta believes Sakuna to be a goddess who abuses her status, or in his words, "acting high and mighty". He often finds himself at odds with her due to their similarly fiery and honest nature, meaning bickering between the two is a common sight - though when it comes down to it, they are more than capable of joining forces and respecting each other's work and help around the farm. This grows over time and eventually they learn to treat each other with respect for everything the other does.
Kokorowa: When Kokorowa first arrives on Hinoa island, Kinta is suprised that not only a goddess has come along to help but that Sakuna is a close friend of hers. But it seems that Kinta respects Kokorowa right away as they collaborate on new mechanical tools for the farm, as well as the rebuilt for a new forge.
Tauemon: Kinta treats Tauemon with the same level of scorn as Sakuna does and is quick to come down on him, though as with Sakuna, comes to eventually value his input and his hard work around the farm and the fields.
Yui: Kinta does not understand why Yui appears to follow him around as much as she does, and while he can find it bothersome at times, Kinta understands that she is a kind soul who means no harm whatsoever and treats her accordingly during their interactions.
