"If you are all happy, then I am happy. I am often so eager to help that I get carried away with my tinkering."
"Sakuna's “best friend,” a high-ranking goddess who calls the Mihashira Capital home. She presides over wheels and inventions, and the various contraptions she creates enable Yanato to thrive.
Eventually, Princess Kokorowa might agree to design mechanical marvels to assist Sakuna in her agricultural endeavors. These new tools can be used in the storehouse, where Sakuna will sort grains of rice, wait for seedlings to mature, and store dried rice to be threshed and hulled."[1][2]
Kokorowa is a high-ranking goddess residing in the Lofty Realm; her overall demeanour is calm and collected in direct contrast to her best friend Sakuna; Kokorowa is both literally and metaphorically the blue to Sakuna's red. She has worked hard to reach where she is as a high-ranking goddess despite her low birth, and is keen to gain the favour of Lady Kamuhitsuki.
As an inventor goddess, one of Kokorowa's well-known inventions are the automatons standing guard over the Mihashira Capital.
Story[]
After Sakuna's banishment from the capital to the Isle of Demons, Kokorowa works hard and improves her automatons standing guard over the capital - even winning the favor of Lady Kamuhitsuki and entering an arrangement.
However, after Sakuna's rice became highly favored in the capital by Lady Kamuhitsuki, she obtains some of Sakuna's Revered Ears rice by unknown means and tampers with it to create her own slightly different brand of rice in competition with Sakuna, eventually becoming the dominant rice in the capital. It is revealed after Sakuna chases Kokorowa through the capital (and fighting her more advanced automatons) that Kokorowa was jealous of the way Sakuna used to flaunt her station, while believing she was not deserving of it, while Kokorowa had to work every day just to get a chance at Lady Kamuhitsuki's favor. Somewhat calling back to the beginning, this is revealed in the storage room and a fire breaks out, destroying the stores of rice once again.
The two reconcile shortly afterwards, and return to being friends. When the eruption of the volcano ruins Sakuna's crops on Hinoe Island and covers her fields in ash, Kokorowa returns to offer her assistance, and from there, she stays with Sakuna and the children of men to make their lives easier where possible, lending help in the creation of new tools to automate the rice growing process.
Relationships[]
Sakuna: Kokorowa considers Sakuna a good friend of hers, though wonders how she manages to retain such high status and reap her benefits as she does despite her blasé attitude, drunkenness and overall lack of etiquette. She can't help but compare herself to Sakuna given the massive difference in attitudes towards life as goddesses.
Lady Kamuhitsuki: Kokorowa is keen to gain Lady Kamuhitsuki's favour, moreso than Sakuna, and eventually comes to work with her, forming something of a work relationship.
Tama: Kokorowa and Tama are much more likeminded than Sakuna and Tama, and so the two of them share a familiarity in dealing with mishaps involving her or simply keeping up with her personality. They are both levelheaded deities, and so they respect that in each other.
Trivia[]

- Kokorowa's name consists of "Kokoro", meaning "heart/mind" to convey her bright nature, and "wa" (wheel) as she is the goddess of tools and invention.[3]
- She is based on Omoikane from Japanese mythology.[3]
- Kokorowa was designed to contrast Sakuna - i.e. balanced, looks smart, and wears makeup beautifully.[3]
