Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Wiki

"The head goddess who rules over all the deities of Yanato. She is the living embodiment of the Tree of Creation, the source of all things. Due to the transfer of power from one generation's Kamuhitsuki to the next, this iteration of the goddess is weaker than her predecessors. Despite this, she is still an all-powerful presence. She orders Sakuna to survey and develop Hinoe, that the young goddess might conquer the Isle of Demons in her stead.

If Sakuna manages to get herself back in Lady Kamuhitsuki's good graces, the Mihashira Capital's preeminent goddess can be petitioned to alter the very laws of nature. When this happens, speak to Tauemon to change the temperature and weather patterns in exchange for a suitable offering of amber."[1][2]

Trivia[]

  • Kamuhitsuki's formal name is Kamuhitsuki-no-Mikoto - "Kamuhi" meaning "a goddess among gods", "ki" referring to an incarnation of the tree of creation", and "Mikoto" meaning "most precious".[3]
  • Kamuhitsuki is the only Yanato deity who can be addressed as "Mikoto" (Noble One).[3]
  • Although not mentioned ingame, Kamuhitsuki has equivalent gods outside of Yanato in other countries who are akin to siblings.[3]
  • Kamuhitsuki's design is indeed based on Freesia from Fairy Bloom Freesia - she is designed to be Freesia with more of a goddess-like look, though is not herself Freesia.[3]
