Myrthe can help you process ingredients into other ingredients or food. This is a good way to use up fresh ingredients (e.g. plants, meat) as they would otherwise spoil. Preserved foods and fresh foods contribute to different recipes, and processed (i.e. dried, pickled) foods tend to give buffs where their fresh counterpart do not. All preserved foods have an infinite shelf life.
In the Processing menu with Myrthe, use the up/down buttons to scroll through the items, and the left/right buttons to jump one page forward/backward. Press the A button (on Nintendo Switch) to select the food item. Use the up/down buttons to change the quantity. Use the left/right buttons to jump between (+1) and (+max). Press A to confirm or B to cancel.
Some recipes allow for flexibility in terms of which ingredient (within the same class of ingredients) should be use, such as choosing between Brown, Mixed, or White Rice to make Sushi. These ingredients have <angle brackets> around them. Press the Y button to enter the ingredient selection menu, use the up/down buttons to scroll through the overall ingredients needed (i.e. Meat, Salt, <xxx Rice>), and the left/right buttons to change between the different ingredients within the same type (i.e. Brown Rice, Mixed Rice, White Rice). These are listed in the table as Any xxx.
